:sun: came out just after I left work, perfick timing.

Nice ride along the river, and I avoideded getting assaulted by any stray labradors today, went a slightly different way as I got near home, sick of the shared path as it coincides with school letting out time, and there are blooming loads of the little horrors all walking 3 and 4 abreast right along it.

Having a nice pint of tea before my afternoon nap :cuppa::tired:

That was why you did not turn up for dinner with me then.
I'll have to make it up to you with a fish n chip supper, with a can of Dr Pepper, cowering in the local pee smelling bus stop and if you play your cards right I might even opt for a carton of mushy peas, but if you really really really play your cards right, I'll up that can of Dr Pepper for a can of Iron Bru! :thanks:

Now what woman could resist a romantic night out like that ...Don't let the other ladies know or they'll be queuing to take your place

Well, it's the 29th of February, and if I don't do it now I'll have to wait 4 whole years...

Day started badly. Got the 7.55 east coast train to KingsX for a meeting in London at 11.30. Train stopped in York at 9am with the announcement that the service was cancelled due to a fatality on the line south of York station. We all sat on the train in disbelief. No trains in or out of York for up to 3 hours, no alternative because it was too far and slow to get a bus to Doncaster and no refund as it was outside their control. Thank you and goodbye! Awful for them to have to deal with the poor person who was killed but they could have at least tried to help everyone get to where they needed to be.

Thankfully I got on the cancelled Newcastle to Manchester Airport service that they decided to turn back to Newcastle.

Worse still was the plight of a wedding party travelling to London... the couple were booked to get married at 1pm and had their family and friends on the train. The poor girl was inconsolable but tried to make the best of it. They all shot off to try and book a taxi from York to London!

To cheer myself up I went for a ride up the Derwnet Walk to Waskerley... 58 miles/ Need tea!!!

There would probably have been a greater chance of such a delay on the roads then on rail.

Another :cuppa: for Archie.
