The Land Rover forum are turning detective and have found out who they were and which club they come from and where that pond is. They will be investigated further for any illegal aspect of putting a vehicle in the pond and contaminating the environment there. The pond is only accessible by foot path.
Apparently it took three hours to remove it, leaving damage to the banking.

Good! (to the investigation, not the damage).

Would have been even better if the pond had proved to be home to a fleet of pirahna fish....
