Our two sons, Rocky Minor and Rocky Minimus have been house sitting for us.......and I'm quite keen to know if there is anything left of Rocky Towers.

That's it I need a large mug for my green tea and ginger biscuits. Anyone like a cuppa?

Just time for a quick one before I head off to work, leaving NT to mooch about for the day - then we're off to Leicester this evening.

NT needs a rest. he Did Too Much yesterday, although he assures me he had fun!

I survived though!

I went out on a collection round with Arch in the morning, to monitor and observe the work and activities around Beryl (the electric truck) with a view to implementing improvements. I did take part in the kerbside sorting as well. :heat:
Then, after lunch, I was blowing up balloons and tearing newspaper into strips for the evening activities but that was boring and didn't take long. :tired:
There were some volunteers outside working some logs into a wood store and I couldn't help but get involved. It was good showing them how to cut joints and use tools more effectively.:training:
Then Arch returned and caught me.

The hardest part of the day was the back breaking task of applying strips of soggy, sticky paper to squeaky balloons. Not an easy job to do sitting down so we were all standing for most of the 3 hours.
I think my back may have just about forgiven me though my calf muscles are still not talking to me!

I am going to warm up and then do my exercises this morning before heading out for a wonder around York's shops. Not sure what else I might do today, yet.
:training::sweat:

I will get down to my car and see if I am able to depress the clutch pedal though. I really want to be able to do some driving this weekend and to drive my car home.

I would liked to have called her Spot, which is the name of Data's cat. But Spot just did not suit her.
I had a Land Rover called Spot.

We were looking to buy a Panda coloured Fiat Panda 4x4 but we found that it wasn't a real one. It was just a white one painted in Panda markings to hide the big rust holes. However, we had already decided it would have to have been called 'Spot'.
So we carried on looking and ended up buying a SWB 2A Land Rover and the name stuck.
Some people thought we called her Spot because she was matt black with a shiny pink bonnet but, no, the bonnet was just a'De-Luxe' spare I had, with spare wheel carrier, to replace the standard 'knife edge' bonnet.

Leo is the male (white) cat. Tasha is the female (mostly black with some white) cat. She is named after Tasha Yar from Star Trek. I would liked to have called her Spot, which is the name of Data's cat. But Spot just did not suit her.
You were Spot on with that decision;)

My first car was a blue VW Beetle which was called Alex (after the Melanie song Alexander beetle)

After an artic wrote my motorbike off, my first car was a blue Beetle too, it got called Hurdy Gurdy as I put a cheap £30 stereo radio cassette in it to try to drown out the engine noise [no luck- got threshold shift in hearing anyway!]... loved that car. The seat belts fell off going round corners and it had cheap Czechoslovakian cross plys on it which were so hard and shiny they squealed going round the slightest bend- fantastic in multi-storey car parks- and when the exhaust blew I could clear a path way ahead of me as people dived for cover thinking a really powerful fast car was screeching round the corner... ah, my misspent youth.

Got my bike back- new replacement 27" alloy wheels on quick releases so finally got rid of the old steel wheels after 31 years: they couldn't get a 120mm drop-out rear alloy to fit my 5 speed freewheel so stripped down and rebuilt another new front wheel rim to a new freewheel alloy hub... fitted rivet nuts to the down tube for a water bottle. Boy is it light and quick now!

1st ride [only allowed up and down the street] since my op so bit tender yet, can't wait .
