I could not even hazard a guess about the location of my nearest Stirbucks. This town has about eight places serving teas, coffees, hot chocolates, etc and all sorts of edible cakey/pastry items. This includes some establishments where a waiter or waitress takes your order, while you are sat at a table, and brings it to you when it is ready. None of this "queue up at the counter and fetch it yourself" malarkey. :smile:

It matters not one jot what Amazon call it, it does not work! Where possible for books, I use Abebooks, or Worldofbooks, as I am not in the least impressed with Amazon's reasons for tax avoidance.
I don't like the muli-national tax avoidance thing either!

Forgetting that ... I have the Kindle reader on my XP desktop computer and my XP pro laptop and it does what it says on the virtual tin! (As does the Kindle Android app on my Galaxy Tab.)

What operating system does your computer have? Does the Kindle installer run okay? If it installed okay, what happens when you try to run it?

@wolly I think you need Kindle for pc, I have it on my puter and it works just fine :dry: I think I have got Kindle for pc.
Maybe you need a schoolboy to explain it better, give @bumpkin a nudge :whistle:

That's okay!

I found this discussion which might point you in the right direction. I think making sure you run the installation program from an administrator account might be the answer.

Yes, thank you. I wrote click right clicked on the Kindle icon, which took me into a trouble shooter wotsit. That mentions administrators etc. Abebooks have the book, but I very nearly ordered it from Guernsey, does that mean they sell it without paying VAT? :unsure:

:blush: I have no idea what dropbox is, is it one of those computer clouds thingies?

@Wocky, it would appear the the word "application" is wot used to be on puters, before those phoney (?) people shortened it to app, for telephoney purposes. :thumbsup:

He was a very nice bloke really, and he was here to sort out why I can only have 3 inches of hot water in the bath,

Have you thought about getting a deeper bath? :unsure:

NT has gone off to his physio session, so I'm all alone with the radio and the fridge....

<trying to be good>

Maybe, another :cuppa: Yes, that's the thing.
