Well I had the interview, just waiting for them to make up their minds. I think if I where to be offered the role, I would have to turn it down. They need someone in 7 days a week looking after the animals, so Christmas would be canceled as I wouldn't be able to go to my sisters.

The area of land they wanted to make sustainable was less than half the size of my allotment.

Just got a telephone call now and had to turn them down. Feel really bad, but it just wouldn't have worked.

Good one Gromit

Well done on 'getting' the job, and I think you've done the right thing. Sounds like they need a live in manager, and to provide lodgings.

Who knows, if they struggle to keep someone, they may rethink the terms.

Quite NT. Are you a no milk man as well?
Of course!
Windows update: Finished :wahhey:
Blimey, that was quick.
When I get a Windows update it usually takes ages to download and then carries on the next day too!

Well done on getting the offer. You did the right thing turning it down as it isn't realistic.

Does make you wonder who is doing the job now, and what they would do if you said 'Yes, but I need three months notice for my current job...'

I have had a long, long, hard day that should have ended shortly after dinner but didn't.
What is it with wood screws that wind in nicely with a drill but then refuse to wind back out when you have realised the timber is the wrong way round? I broke two 150mm pz2 driver bits and even a decent manual screw river wouldn't shift them!

I also had a collapsed bit of old wall that needed to be urgently rebuilt as it was supporting the lintel over the window.:heat:

I am :B) and :tired: now. I think I will spend tomorrow clearing the job site and preparing for the work over the weekend.
Just had a very quick :cuppa: and an almond croissant.:hungry:

@Gromit - I know the school, since it's a couple of miles away from me.

You've probably done the right thing. It needs someone who lives nearby, probably semi-retired and just after a top-up income.

Had :cuppa: and fried egg toasty for breakfast:hungry:.

Now ready to tidy up all the building mess I've made this week in the box room.
I might even have time to do a drawing and work out where everything will need to go and what services need to go in.

Just finished some :cuppa:. Went to a talk last night on exoplanets - how they are discovered. Seems we are not alone as a solar system. Plenty of planets out there everywhere. Even planets orbiting pulsars have been discovered. Goldilocks zone planets too!
