Very true, you cannot see the fields just flowing water. I have never seen it this bad in all my 42 years.

Yes, we drove up Soar Valley Way yesterday, and saw the extent of the river.

It was amazing on the A50 where the Soar and the Trent meet. Just fields and fields of water.

York seems to be holding steady at the state I left it in.

Well, we've peeled and chopped spuds, prepped sprouts and braised the red cabbage, so we're about as ahead of the game on veg as we can be. The southern contingent are on their way, and we're watching a marathon of Christmas cooking on More4, and feeling hungry every half hour or so....

I've got the very thing for you... Blacksheep Ale from Masham. Lovely and I think the sun is sinking over the yard arm, so it's about the right time for a drink .

I've also got a large gin for Wol
Some fancy beers for NT & Arch
A little glass of sherry for Potsy
A very large glass of port for 26
TVC and Lullabelle get a nice Chianti
The two Phils can share a bottle of light ale
Jo can have a large glass of Sauvignon Blanc
