When do you get the results?I think I am but I have had a cough since sometime last October, hence going for a chest X-ray yesterday.
I will call my GP end of next week to see if he has the results back. When do you get the results?
I hope it does turn out to be something simple, or at least easily treatable.I will call my GP end of next week to see if he has the results back.
I have been told I don't have asthma, my X-ray looked ok at first glance, and I am hoping it is something silly like a self sustaining cough caused by irritation of the throat due to coughing.
I hope that you are okay NT, but I get worried now every time I hear about someone with an unexplained lingering cough. I had mine a month before I found out that it was caused by a pulmonary embolism. The doc told me that x-rays don't really pick up clots, which is why CT scans are used to confirm them, so even if the x-ray result is clear that doesn't mean that everything is okay in there.I think I am but I have had a cough since sometime last October, hence going for a chest X-ray yesterday.
I did my leg back in June and was having injections to prevent DVT. It was optional but I remembered your experiences so opted for it.I hope that you are okay NT, but I get worried now every time I hear about someone with an unexplained lingering cough. Take a look at this page on the NHS website.
When did you hurt your leg? (Just a bit worried that your leg being out of action for a while might have caused a DVT to form, and a clot to break off that and lodge in your lungs, as in my case!)
A D-dimer blood test detects about 95% of clotting problems, so if you don't find out soon what the problem is, it would be worth asking your doctor about having one.
I would like to say a very rude word, followed by a strongplease. I have just found out that someone I had contact with last year, is now wanted by the Police.
He seemed a genuine sort of person, you can never tell can you.

I didn't find out about mine until August, so I'm a bit confused about the timing, but it sounds like sensible precaution!I did my leg back in June and was having injections to prevent DVT. It was optional but I remembered your experiences so opted for it.
I'm not surprised that you are annoyed - there must be something causing it to happen that often, and I'd have thought that the doctor would see that there is a pattern to it!The same cough has been bugging me most winters for years. Apart from a couple of years I have had a cough from about September-October through to Feb-March time for about the last 6 years or so.
Each time it has been looked at as a simple cough.
Now it is annoying and worrying me.
