It was a really nice afternoon out. We found out where there were 4 Atkinson tractor units and a collection of Scammell Mechanical Horses that we could buy and restore.:hyper::stop::unsure:
I have a friend who ought to be more like you. He bought a lightship to restore but never really got round to it so he is now living on a rusting hulk!

This is similar to what it should look like ...

Taunton has all the coffee chains (in the case of Costa, twice) but is also home to several superb independent coffee shops and those are the ones I go to. Out cycling, they're all independents, apart from a couple of National Trust places but IME, their cakes are usually verging on stale and are hugely overpriced for the minuscule piece you end up with.

We have just made 53 little 2" diameter biscuits. The biscuits contain raisins, dried peel and a little mixed spice. Interestingly the raisins reinflated and burst out of the biscuits! One was even back to full grape size!

Photos in a bit, when my phone is charged up again.

We are just back from an afternoon at the East Lancs transport museum. We also popped over to the station and watched trains.
D335 Class 40 diesel, 80080 2-6-4 heavy tank, and D3871 Class 08 diesel .
W also had tea and cake at the platform 3 buffet.

<sigh> I would like a Scammell Mechanical Horse <sigh>

I know very little about them really, I just like the oddness of them, and the name, and the relatively small size...

The one we saw today had a bit of a 'pinched' expression on its face.

I prefer the slightly earlier version.

But I'd also be quite happy with a Scammell Highwayman, with wrap around windscreen and cycle wings.

I ought to start small with a Phut machine and practise looking grumpy in a field.
Why have one of these...

When you could have one of these.

A friend and I went to a steam fair once, and there was a line of classic cars. We stood in a knot of people around some big American thing, while the owner ran the engine. Fairly gutsy it was. Then we heard something else start up. Something familiar. Almost sounded like a Spitfire...

We looked to where the noise was, and it was two guys with a Merlin on a truck, anchored to the ground. We all just evaporated towards it, leaving the chap with the Cadillac talking to no one!

The sound was amazing. When they full throttled, everyone standing in front of it ducked!
