One of my colleagues lives on a narrowboat in the Marina there so I get daily updates
I went home via a hamlet called Coombe Hill yesterday between Tewkesbury and Gloucester which has a canal to the Severn about a couple of miles the other side as the crow flies , and the whole area is under water on the one side of the road (maybe 1000+ acres in the immediate vicinity

I feel so sorry for everyone who is suffering because of the floods. I cant begin to be able to imagine the trauma they are going through and its not just for a couple of days, but months. they're homes, posessions, gardens everything and there is no end in sight either.

The yard we keep our horses at is under water, has been for weeks. Fortunately the horses beds are dry but the gangway in the barn is under a couple of inches of water all the time from the groundwater levels in the surrounding fields.

The biggest problem is the level in the brook rising above the electric meter in its cubby hole on the access road. It happened last year, and shorted it out so everyone was working with head torches for a couple of days.

Aye not too far..about 6 ml from the hooose if I take the Devol Rd over the golfie then up Garshangan track even on my hybrid..I hope you enjoyed outing. I admire anyone who can cycle up the Old Largs Rd

More like huffing and puffing up the Old Largs Road today, and that was with a tail-wind . It was nice up there, hardly a cloud to be seen, so I kept going - over Garshangan (bit muddy just now) to Kilmacolm, then the old railway track to Paisley, and train home. Literally just got in my door when the wind picked up and on came the sleet!

More like huffing and puffing up the Old Largs Road today, and that was with a tail-wind . It was nice up there, hardly a cloud to be seen, so I kept going - over Garshangan (bit muddy just now) to Kilmacolm, then the old railway track to Paisley, and train home. Literally just got in my door when the wind picked up and on came the sleet!

I don't think you'd be cycling just now in this area...its turmoil everywhere, roads closed...hmm gritters late but out.

WE HAVE only 2 inch snow MAX.....and thats outside ma hoose.

Aye, that's the top (I assume) of the Port for you . I used to live in Dougliehill Terrace. One of the few people who managed to LOSE money on property in the 80s . Hope the snow clears soon; going by the forecast it should get washed away tomorrow.

Well earlier I was listening to the hail stoatin' down while I was getting ready to go out for a rideluckily the storm passed over and the sky turned a lovely shade of blue. How's dragonworld?

Not bad. Had a bit of the white stuff. Its still on the hills, but apart from that not bad at all thanks.
