Celebratory Teas abound!!

Following on from Miss tdr1nka mastering the basic skills of cycling last week, we went on our first jaunt outside of the park today!
Shepherding her on quiet roads, using cycle routes and a little bit of pavement cycling on non residential roads, we used links between local parks and got as far as the Cutty Sark in Greenwich!

A round trip of about 3 miles but quite a step for a 7 year old new to cycling.

I'm so proud.

Sorry :smile: I was busy in the garage. You will have to wait for a piece of sponge cake tho'. The butter is out of the fridge to soften it, and the eggs are nearly room temperate. I do not understand the science bit of the eggs and their temperature.

I had a :wahhey:moment on Friday, not worthy of mention in the open forum, but peeps on here might like to know. I walked up a hill (Bredon Hill) about 300 feet of upness, without stopping, without using my asthmas inhaler, and could still talk when I reached the top. Took about twenty minutes, so not fast, but still. I know some peeps on here are super fit, but that, for me, is an achievement. Next time I plan to do it twice. Then faster etc.
Downside is that there is no tea stop in Overbury.

Oh well done! I've been tackling some hill this weekend, on two wheels, had a lovely ride back over a moor. When we stopped, it was so quiet, you could hear the silence....

Lots of tea, cake, chinese takeaway, pizza and good company....

had a cuppa now, and just ready to make an evening snack.

Evening!

Spent the weekend in London, with my niece, her partner & their daughter. It was lovely. They're off to NZ for good next month (My niece's partner is from NZ), so it my chance tyo be able to see them before they go.

Just had a nap on return home and now I am in need of a large amount of TEA, please.

Morning! This week has got off on the right foot. The milk at work was still OK for my tea despite being out of date:smile:.

And I had a lovely weekend. I went looking at folding bikes yesterday:biggrin:. I don't need one but the cycle to work scheme is open in November and it seems rude not to take advantage. I fancy having something I can put in the car or take on the occasional train journey.

Good Morning!
Lovely day here after a chilly week-end [first blanket field frost yesterday morning] out on my bike by 7:15 watching the sun come up- perfect!
+ a big mug of Twinings to get me going.

It's not ower wam here neither.

Mrs Uncle Phil reports that it's frosty every morning in Lista at the moment (she's coming back on Friday - wahey!).

I had to send her supplies of Yorkshire Tea and Rooibos. You can't get either in the rather rural part of Norway she's in (and if you could, you couldn't afford it. If you see what I mean).

I got 14% on last weeks plant ID test, this weeks will be just as bad. Most people are getting way into the 70's%. I'm not very good at remembering things.

20 plant species a week is rather a lot to learn. Plus having other things on hasn't made it easy. Just don't know what to do. :-(
