Hope you don't mind but can I ask for a little bit of sympathy? Bit sore after bouncing and sliding on the tarmac this morning at speed. I was lucky in my landing but am peed off for not being more careful.

There there, have a pat on the head and a cup of tea, from someone who came off last week. And a biscuit. Go one, have two. They are chocolate...

We have what may be the last piece of sheet ice in the UK, on the path through the reserve - three cyclists came off on it this morning in the space of half an hour (not me, I walked). It's melting now, but when I stopped the electric vehicle at the compound gate this morning, we found ourselves going sideways for a moment...

My sister rang last night to ask me to book a week off in March. She'll be having this one by C-section (due to the damage last time), and needs relays of people to come and help in the weeks afterwards, as she won't be able to lift any weight - eg Oli. So, it'll be a working holiday, cooking shopping, sorting Oli out etc. David will do weeks 1 and 2, Mum the third, then me.... Funny thing is of course, once she's confirmed it with the obs bloke later this week, she'll know exactly when the birthday will be!

Any tea on the go? Don't faint, but I've been out on my bike today for the first time this year:smile::blush:. In fact it was the first time since before the snow. After falling off twice in one day last winter I'm very cautious.

Go for a ride, maybe? That may well sort the headache out.

Taking the biscuit
Off up the City to pay in some cash to the Good Lady's bank.

Not only do we have scaffolding to negotiate, the council laid fresh concrete at the gate and didn't leave a board over it, lazy workmen used some old wood I happened to have to hand.
This morning not only is the concrete still soft, people visiting the upstairs flat trod in it and there are cat paw prints all over it too.
No warning whatsoever they were coming to do these jobs.

Bah!

I'm taking pics and will email them to the repairs dept this afternoon.

No time for tea as I must fly!

Taking the biscuit
So I've dashed of a missive to the repairs dept of the council, with the attached pics.

Mea cuppa?

Actually, looking harder at the scaffolding pic. I realise that the nearer leg hasn't got the board directly under it and the 'step' it is resting on isn't fixed, it's a piece of old york stone I put down there ages ago.

I notice you've given two different versions of your road, to confuse potential visitors.
I may well be visiting the Surray Quays branch of Decathlon soon, so I might invite myself round :o)
