Batter is reputed to get better if it's made a few hours in advance.
If I can ever resist making pancakes for more than a few minutes I'll check this...

One swift Google for pancake batter, and I'm good to go. Just need to re-hydrate...

It's true. My Dad always used to do this. And he'd also make the pancakes ahead of time, layer them with greaseproof paper and then reheat them in the oven. We tended to have some rolled up with savory filling and cheese sauce, like cannelloni, and then some with sweet stuff.

I haven't bothered just for me, I've got some Staffordshire oatcakes I'm going to substitute - two with a savory filling, one with honey.

Might even make some salad on the side.

Rode home today in broad daylight! Yay!

Tea?

Yes, it is batter if it stands a bit first. In the "pancake flavours" thread there is a linky to the science, but it is something to do with string theory and protein and carbohydrates.

Edit: The full theory is in Fab Foodie's post on page one of that Thread.

I recall going to a famous pancake franchise in Los Angeles, with a friend. Neither of could decide whether to have banana (filling) in the pancakes or coconut. So using our initiative, we ordered one of each portion, being two pancakes in each, are you with me so far?

We duly swapped one pancake over from each plate. Need not have bothered, neither of us could tell which was which.:wacko:

My mum and I do similar with sandwiches if we eat out. Then, she has a further dilemma, which to eat first. This is solved by cutting each in half to alternate fillings. But which half to start with? etc, etc..

I just stuff myself...

I do only flip each pancake once.

Is that tea I see?

<serves up tea>

Well, you only need to flip them once, don't you?

An old lady gave us buns on the round today. Little chocolate ones.

Cos last night I had Belgian Waffles with maple syrup and fresh double cream.

Waffles isn't Belgian, she's a Geordie!!!!
I like Waffles - covered in maple syrup and ice cream:tongue:
For the avoidance of doubt - I'm referring to the batter-based comestibles.
I have never seen any denizens of CC covered in maple syrup and ice cream.
