Glad you enjoyed the camping Ms123, shame you're a wimp about hen poo, though. It's nowhere near as bad as the human variety

It'll be even nicer when spring's moved on a bit - which it will have done in time for SITD. Windy, though. If only they'd got those big fans on the hill tops moving the wind the other way...

I did battle with the old public transport run to see my Mother yesterday, oh what a joy!

Five and a half hours travel time to cover fifty miles! I could cycle that in just over four!!
Were the need not to arrive at my Mothers all sweaty, I'd take the bike and save myself six quid to boot! Grrr.

Evenings all.

What a nice day today was. First sensible weather day for an absolute age. Time for a cuppa I think.

BTW - Arch (moderator) et al - what's all these new fangled badges then?

Admin's found a virtual badge making machine - he's like a kid with a pack of stickers....

Well, I feel better today than I did when I popped in yesterday. I'd just done 40 miles on the trike, of which the last 20 were very flat and into the very gusty wind, so I hadn't had a moment of freewheeling all that time - I just winched myself along. Still, it was better than it would have been on an upright, I think I'd have been crying in a ditch otherwise. As it was, my knees were complaining, and last night I hurt a lot - sort of cramps down one leg (sort of sciatic, I think, even lying flat in bed hurt), and I woke up about 5 times in the night, because it hurt when I turned over. Miraculously, I feel fine today, more flexible than I have for weeks. So I think I'm just getting my recumbent muscles back. It was a lovely day yesterday though, very sunny, too hot at times!

Just this week to do, and I'm off to my sister's...;)

Tea?

It's the Pennines. The hills go on for miles, and I'm sure the gravity's stronger in Lancashire.

It's all the ecky thump and black pudding.

Cheers! I'm glad I felt better today, I was thinking if 40 miles reduced me to agony for more than an evening, I was in trouble. I think (touch wood) I may be coming out of the bad back phase of the job. I've been doing those stretches you suggested, I think it's helped.

With a week off in the offing, it might be just the rest I need, although that week off is supposed to be helping my sister, who isn't supposed to lift anything for a few weeks yet. Still, from what Mum said (she was down there last week), sis is doing pretty well.

Mum went down the day Max was born, just for an overnight visit. Apparently, sometime after she left, Oli, in a bad mood about Max, said "Mummy doesn't love me, Daddy doesn't love me, only Grandma loves me and she's gone home!"

Little sod!;)

hahah, sibling rivalry has started already then?!

Arch take it easy with the lifting etc and do try and get some rest in that week. I'm glad to hear those stretches are helping- wish there was a similar thing to help with general wellness - still finding usual short distances and ever so slight inclines a real test- I really hope it gets better as I'm long way from that 100miles and LEL!!

It will get better. You've got 3 years before the LEL remember! All I can suggest is to keep going about and doing those little rides, no matter how pointless they seem - it's all exercise, which is good for body and soul.

Oh, oh oh! Excitement! Coming back from our Southbank round today, we saw the Google Streetview car! I hope he was filming. They've already done that road, so I wonder if they are updating. Although it's not really changed in a couple of years. We'll be easy enough to spot if they do update - a bright yellow boggly looking electric truck! I'm afraid I waved, excitedly.;)

Morning all!

A beautiful sunny day! Added bonus of cycling slower than usual is it cuts down on the wind chill.
