Hi Arch! Nice new clothes you've got there!

Cheers! It's my little playdoh elephant, the result of sitting in a rather dull course...

Have you recovered from Sunday yet? I am sorry to have been able to join you, I had a very busy day in the garden. :becool::laugh:

Ah - I missed you Speicher. Hope the garden is growing well. It was a hot and hilly 127 miles but very spectacular scenery and the views were excellent. The air was very clear and I reckon I could see Wenlock Edge over 100 miles away!!! I took Monday morning to recover then 44 miles in the evening (afternoon too hot). Yestreday 45 and today 60. I'm in training for a ride to the Mediteranean at end of June. 100 miles per day for 7 days. So I'm doing back to back rides to teach my body how to handle it. 43+ tomorrow then Fri and Sat off. Club Run on Sunday (60+). Mrs 26x25 is being very patient with all this riding

Excellent sculpting there. Ever thought of going the artistic route?

Thank you. I'm quite pleased with it. I don't know how much of a living there is in making playdoh elephants though.

I've never really had a go at carving - wood or stone, would quite like to try that.

Have a go Arch. If it doesn't work out you can claim that it's a modern take on the elephant. The playdoh is just the scale model you are attempting to make the big sculpture from. Perhaps a CC commission would encourage you?

I am very lucky in that it is still sunny in the garden until about 7pm, so I usually imbibe a light sparkling wine around that time, or while preparing a meal. One of my neighbours has very kindly put a picnic table (one with chairs attached to it) on the corner of the field at the backs of the garden. This is on the edge of an enormous field, and then (because the garden goes uphill slightly) I could enjoy sunny evenings until very late.

He also very kindly strims the grass at the edge of the field, making it a very nice area to sit in. From this picnic table, with a pair of binoculars in hand I might be able to see anyone who is cycling up the Malverns.

"Wiv a ladder and some glasses, I could see to 'ackney marshes, if it wasn't for the houses inbetween..."

26x25: That's all very well, but when CC commissions a full scale elephant carving, and I produce one, where's it going to go? For that matter, how do I get it downstairs to deliver it?

I've remembered that I made a few Fimo things for the dolls house when I was younger (it was a hobby, rather than a plaything). I was quite proud of my 1/16th scale aubergine.

I'm looking forward to Oli being old enough for playdoh/plasticine....

Talking of which, Grandma took her cousin down to Winch to visit for the day today. Oli spent all morning asking "Is grandma here yet?" and when they arrived, ran up to her and asked "Grandma, do you want an ice lolly?"

Such simple priorities at that age.

Took a lovely route to work this morning and ready for that cuppa now.

Can anyone remind me the link to the cycle route mapper thingy we were shown by somebody on here a littel while back?

And has anyone got a couple of bits of lycra - preferably pink or lime green I can patch my shorts with - wearing through!

Do you mean something that plans your route for you, or something you can map your own route on?

For your own route, to find out distance:

http://www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php

or for GPS stuff:

http://www.bikeroutetoaster.com/Course.aspx

This will plan a route for you... (I think it's still under development)

Thanks Arch. The bikehilke was the one I was after. Now I have saved my route as a tcx, but can't see how to upload it on CycleChat if I wanted to or open it on my PC without the website up. Is there a way I can do this. Option to Save the Route is no longer hosted by the website owner.
