Alright. So who took them? Where have they gone? I hadn't realised they'd gone. They didn't look as thought they had departed. I really couldn't tell.

At WW tonight, the scales (properly calibrated ones too) tell me that this week I've lost 6.5lbs.

I've been struggling for weeks and all of a sudden, 6.5 of the blighters disappear in a week. MrWC lost half of one.

So, since Novemebr that's over 2.5 stones I've now lost. It's been a struggle due to the health issues meaning very, very little exercise, but we're getting there...

It's virtually impossible to get a compost heap "wrong". If you keep chucking in vegetable material it will all rot down. When it's mostly rotten you can dig it nto the ground and leave the worms to sort it out for you.

Years ago I used to help my Dad ship compost from a neighbour who kept horses, one of whom was called Jolson. In the darker reaches of the compost heap you could count the layers of dead leaves, one per autumn, if you dug down. In places it went back over 5 years! It all came back and got dug into the veg patch. Part of that is now a lawn and even 25 years on the grass grows better there than elsewhere. At this time of year my Dad curses it because it's so thick that it stalls the mower. Jolson's muck lives on, even though the horse in question (and indeed sadly the neighbour) is departed.

Mornings!

Porridge being made. First cuppa of the day already sipped.

Compost.. ah yes. One of my compost bins is being used by bummlers as a nest site, so nothing shall be added to that compost bin this summer. The bummlers are being left in peace and quiet. Good job I have more than one compost bin!

Evenings!!

Just home from work. Any tea left?

This is the time I like cycling in Aberdeen at night as it doesn't get completely dark. The sky is halflight and half dark. Very beauitiful under a clear sky.
