*passes tea in northerly direction*
I was once camping up near John O'Groats at this time of year. IIRC it got a bit twilighty around 1 am, for an hour or so. I hate to think what it's like in mid-December...

Monring all! Porridge and fruit has been consumed. I am requiring of fortification with a mug of tea before I soak the plants.

"Ningles" as the expression goes.

Another question for compost corner. I went to use some flour recently, and was surprised to see some very small black wiggly things in it.

I do not intend using the flour, can I put it in the compost bin? I presume the wiggley wotsits are mealworm. It is wholegrain flour so they must have sneaked in without a permit. The flour and wiggles are in a sealed container, so they will not have invaded the rest of the cupboard.

Secondly, my compost bin lacks one of those aerator bases, which supposedly increases ventilation and drainage. I have three garden pots which were damaged, and cracked beyond use. The remains of which lurk in the garage. Can I use the broken bits to improve drainage etc. I am reluctant to buy a (recycled) plastic base if I can reuse something else.
Thank you for your help.

The flour will be fine in a breadmaker, and will give your loaf some valuable added protein.
You may find it has a slightly 'lively' flavour.

The only non-vegetable matter that I put in the compost bin is pee. The only non-veg stuff in there is what arrives 'naturally'

As for bottoms...

My bins sit on the earth - no ventilated bottom. The compost bin gets to be full of worms - and in the case of one, bummlers...

Morning!

Sorry Doc - I'll say that more quietly to minimise pain in your head

*morning!*

Went to see Sex & The City 2 with MrWC last night. We both enjoyed it - it's silly, it has some laugh out loud bits. It's definitely a chick-flick, but don't tell anyone... there's a load of blokes go to watch it too! It's silly, fun, escapism with wonderful clothes.. sigh. And the wedding is marvellous. It's worth it for the wedding scenes alone.

No pain in the head this morning.
Drinking large amounts of water and an isotonic drink really pays off

Well, the slight morning-after-the-night-before feeling didn't affect my ride too much, other than a strange desire for chips and Coke with the mid-morning bacon sarney and mug of tea.
The main problem was my climbing ability. I climbed hills with all the grace and panache of a concrete elephant
