Enjoy the weather while it lasts, as Sunday is forecast to be cloudy with a ESE wind.
So, should be a tailwind on the way back :biggrin:

Sod Sunday, I need good weather vibes for tonight. The forecast is, amazingly, suggesting a strongish tailwind (south or southwesterly) overnight to Whitby. But we need it to either turn 180 degrees, or drop, for Saturday afternoon, when we ride back from Pickering, having steam trained it back there from Whitby.

Anyone seen Speciher since she went to look in the shed? Should we go and peer through the shed windows and look for her?

What, tonight / tomorrow?

Carbon - is lighter, faster and generally nicer. Lowest gear is 34x25. Drop bars
531 - has a rack and wider tyres. Lowest gear 26x28 IIRC. Flat bars.

Might have to be the carbon, but I'll struggle a bit on hills...

Is this another FNRttC, Arch? Here's hoping for tailwinds the whole way!!

'tis indeed. Whitby, for Halloween. The place will be full of goths, apparently. Almost annoyingly, it's forecast to be mild, but I'm going to wear my Foska Bones jacket anyway.

I'm currently putting the North York Moors to the back of my mind. I've driven that road, and remember it as "hilly" to put it mildly.

Yes, tea please, and call off the search party. You would have difficulty looking through the windows of the shed, cos I have not got a shed. All thingummyjigs, wotsits and sprockets are kept in the garage.

Did you find anything useful?

<passes tea to Speicher>

At work, we have a rather large input of leaves, since we collect garden waste, and we put them all in a big builder's sand sack to rot down.

@ TheDoc... I'd go for the steel if I had it.

The Sentinel is running like a dream, I'm just faffing as to what I need to bring on Sunday.

An odd thing I realised last night, while drawing up my kit list, is that I don't need any spanners for this bike. :eek:
Except maybe cone spanners, everything else is either Allen key(I think saying Hex keys brings a curse upon one)or spline tools.

P.S. I am bringing a cotter pin I found and intend to ask at cake stops from where on my bike it has fallen off of. :biggrin:

Tea anyone?

Uh? Wassat? Eh?

<dribble>

Well, I've had breakfast. Bags packed. Just need to attach the illuminated pumpkin to the trike, and away we go.

Hope all goes well. Remember - avoid energy gels, eat as much chocolate flapjack as possible.
And (although one hesitates to advise it in this of all threads) Cappuccino with 8 sugars is good.
Especially at 4 am.
