Arch, I think you may have given me your virus.

Got a sore throat and a cough now!
Tea please

Oh no! I hope not. Get well soon.

Did watching Artem just now help?

I'm looking forward to Matt, but meanwhile I'm developing a bit of a passion for Anton...

Has anyone got any special requests for edibles? Just doing my on-line order, the last one before the end of the year. Apart from Honey roasted cashew nuts, there are no cakey items or biscuits on the order......yet.

Yes, that's very laudable, but I see you've actually ordered 8 tonnes of cashew nuts.... ;)

I hesitate to put your self control at risk by requesting a box of Jaffa Cakes...

Popped out for a spot more Xmas shopping today, looks like I timed it well, as it was sunny and clear (but cold) and now it's snowing again....

At this rate, I'll be walking to work tomorrow, as side streets are rapidly becoming packed ice. But I wore my new workboots today, to break them in a bit, and with two pairs of socks, my feet are nice and snug!

Tea? Just boiled the kettle.

My sore throat has not got any worser. The headache has eased a bit. I will be staying in the warm today.

Jaffa cakes - is that just one dozen boxes? That does not jeopardise my self-control, as I do not like them. Dark choc digestives, on the other hand, or those new Foxes, biskits called Whipped Cream crunchies or somefink, that is another matter altogether. Or discustard creams? Unfortunately the local greengrocers also sells lovely (locally-made) jams, and lovely biskits, cakes etc.

My mother likes Sherry, so I have ordered a bottle of her favourite. She also likes Ferrero Rocher chocs, but they will be purchased much nearer to her arrival, as I find that they do not keep.

I'll look after them. Can't stand them. Which was awkward whan I had a boyfriend who always brought me some, and I never had the heart to say.

Still, I had other friends who were pleased - they always got them!

There has been about one centimetre of snow here. But it is very cold. I think the ducks and swans will be sliding on the ice at the small nature reserve. Fortunately lots of people go over there, so they will not be short of food. Not that the ducks eat people, but they will not be short of bread, or bird food.

Still blizzarding here, more than ever.

Gonna be a cold old day at work tomorrow. Fortunately it's another week without a collection, due to the changeover.

Unfortunately, we still have about 500 boxes to wash out.

Still, last week one of the guys found a pot bellied BBQ, so we can work round that for warmth.

If you have an outside water supply for washing the boxes, will that be frozen? And when the water from the washing lies on the ground, will that freeze?

You had better hurry up and get the job done, better still get your skates on!

Our water supply is buckets (from waterbutts), and since we found the BBQ, we can heat it.

And we'll work on the gravel area, so it probably won't be much good for skating... ;)

I suspect first job tomorrow will be shovelling the snow up in the compound so we don't end up with it all compacted like last year, when we ended up smashing it with crowbars.

Ah - Arch - Speicher has a point. Health and Safety first. You cannot wash boxes if the water will freeze. Health and safety first. You'll just have to sit around the BBQ fire and drink T.

Potsy - Hot Choc-what  This is the T thread
Oh - I went to get a quick ride in and found my front tyre down. It's soooo cold I just switched wheels. You are very brave (or lack feeling in your hands and fingers) to work on bikes at this temperature, 30 mins or whatever. Or did you cheat and bring the bike and tools in for several hours to warm up first?
