Do you remember the veggie bacon rashers?
Looked like cardboard that had been painted to look like bacon. It cooked in a microwave and turned into cardboard that had been painted to look like bacon but with a sizzling surface. Still only tasted like cardboard that had been painted to look like bacon though.

I did actually try them once.. never again, it was vile. Then got me thinking. Why would veggies want to eat something pretending to be/look like bacon? There is no point.

I have a moral getout for veggies on bacon. If we didn't eat bacon and pork, pigs would not exist - they don't have any use other than edible or other after death products.


Also, they are the one thing we eat that would eat us, given a chance. Seems a bit fairer...

You could almost apply the same logic to people.

And don't some tribes of the south pacific refer to humans as 'long pigs', given the resemblance to pork..

I had a nice curry for dinner, and I've polished off my second cup of tea of the evening. Also, thanks to a surfeit of trade advent calendars at Velo Vision, which had gone to the old address and I delivered to the office today, I've got some little chocolates to catch up on...

i was very good and only ate 2

1 or 2 dicey moments but got home safe and sound in the end,albeit 10 minutes slower than normal. hot choccy time i think.
