Ah - I see. Sky+ has a recorder function but Sky doesn't. You pays your money..........
Just rewired up my speakers on my Music centre. Might test it with some Vinyl 33 1/3 tonight. I'm old technology me.
I do not think Sky plus existed when I first took out a sub for Sky.

Depending on what package you're on I doubt it would cost much more to upgrade to Sky+.
We could go for Virgin+ which has 3 tuners, 2 to record and the other to watch live, just haven't gotten round to it yet, don't like to rush into things
