Not sure about ring or filled and what fillings should be allowed though and if icing and sprinkles count though.

I agree on the crispiness bit - soggy is disappointing. Although I think that can be a place for a less greasy, more cakey style doughnut too. On a plate, next to to a big mug of tea.
