OK- I am male

5ft 8ish tall and 'fairly' active, cycling, manual job etc, how many points am I allowed?

Unfortunately I have no idea, and no method of finding out.

The only man I know who is following the WW diet, and who I know well enough to ask, is about six foot tall and not active at all, so that would not help you.

<pssst> Just tell him he's allowed 4 points fewer than you are....

And no I haven't eaten all 5 bars cheeky, I take the whole pack to work and have 1 each day with my lunch.

If I was you, I might join on-line, for a month, and find recipes you like, etc. I do not buy any of the branded food*, or the gadgets like the scales etc. You could see how it goes, and lose twelve pounds in the process. ;)

* Except for one box of "Nutty" bars, that are like Tracker bars, but smaller, and not quite as sweet.

Arch, I am sure you have noticed how expensive knitting patterns are now. I found this site by accident, knitrowan.com that has a good selection of patterns free to down-load. Thought you might be interested to see it, if you do not already know about it.

Oh, cheers, some nice looking little projects there!

I have seen "free to download" patterns on-line before, but they were mainly scarves, or shawls etc or little coats for dogs, not very exciting and who needs a pattern for a scarf. I expect the more complex ones are the ones printed on the ball of the wool, but you can see the pattern first, and choose, or use up your own wool.

I will keep an eye out for other on-line ones, Sirdar do not appear to do them, but I think I have seen another one.

Very quiet in here today. I would put the kettle, but it does not suit me.

The consultant said I can take the splint off my finger during the day, but wear it at night, or if doing anything "violent".

I thought it would feel better, but it feels much worse.  It is stiff, swollen, puffy, very itchy and not nice.

Fortunately today is doughnut day.
