Correct, next weekend being a Bank Holiday, I may turn down the opportunity to win a medal. I will, however, be visiting a Dog Show and a Farmer's Market. It could get very hectic here.

Worcestershire has lots of Tea and cake stops.

No ice cream vans up here, alas. Am thinking about getting a ice cream maker, which would undoubtedly pay for itself in a very short space of time

I have lived here for sixteen years and this is the first time I have known an ice cream van drive up here.

There used to be a man driving a horse and cart and collecting iron. Last year he upgraded to a pick up truck, and a tannoy. This part of Worcestershire tends to be somewhat behind the times. There is still an "early closing day" and only about three shops open on Sundays. The nearest 24 hour opening supermarket is about seven miles away.

And you wonder why I say you live in the 1950's

16 years, he could have retired by now if he knew you were there

We have an ice cream van that comes to our street even when it's -5C, I'm sure he sells more than just 99's

Anyways, better get myself a small portion of Carte D'or choccy ice cream that fell into my basket yesterday in Tesco's

It is very nice living in the 1950's. Nearly everyone is friendly. The countryside is lovely.

I really think you ought to write a letter of complaint to the Manager of your local Tesco's. Tell him you think his staff are doing a very bad job of putting all the tasty food on the shelves. It is always falling into your basket.
That never happens at the mini Tesco near here. Although it does happen at the greengrocer's, cos his staff never put the biskits or the chocolate properly on the shelves.

[No but it'll seem strangely familiar on iPlayer later....]

Tea up for poorly sick Mrs A_T.

[Edit: unfortunate turn of phrase that....]

Aw, give her my best wishes.

I wonder if Potsy's local Tesco is built over old mine workings or something, as it seems to suffer a large number of small earthquakes whenever he shops there.

Tea's up! I took Spandex over to the dark side today and out with my walking group. I think I'm definitely more cyclist than walker now. I got to the top of a hill and thought it would be nice to coast down, then remembered I'd have to put some effort in and walk...

Ooh, fabulous timing.

That's happened to me, as well. Am seriously considering the feasibility of (a) getting my bike up to the top of the Quantocks and (b) quite how battered and bruised I'll be if I ride my hybrid across them, just for the pleasure of freewheeling back to civilisation
