Nah, Unicorns don't socialise at all if they can help it,

I imagine it might get quite dangerous at a crowded Unicorn party. All those horns! They'll have someone's eye out.

I've got a posh dinner lined up - a chicken, sweetcorn and leek pie from Waitrose, topped with potato and butterbean mash. Thank goodness for 'reduced to clear'!

It was a bit wet today, although not as bad as it looked like it was going to be.

Tea, to go with the biscuits? Hang on.

I'm sure someone said there were biscuits. I can't seen to find them though, only this empty packet.....

I decided to put to the test the theory that it is perfectly possible to remove a Land Rover tyre from its rim without the use of a tyre changing machine.

I am changing the transaxle on my electric tractor and switching from using car wheels to Land Rover wheels.

First I removed the two 265 75 16 off road tyres from the car wheels I was using and then removed the 7.50 16 Land Rover tyres from the wheels I got on Freecycle. The wide off road tyres were easier as they are softer but fitted to tubeless rims. The Land Rover tyres were a pain as they were so stiff and unforgiving.

Still, I won, 4-0 to me!
Four tyres removed from four rims. I will need to clean up the Land Rover rims and check the tubes for punctures before putting the big off road tyres on them.

Just trying to source another pair of rims for the agricultural tyres I have now.

Well done you! How do you get them off, bloody great levers? I struggle with bike tyres.... I got so frustrated with a Maximus tyre once, I threw the levers at it.

I'm waiting for my pie to cook. 25 mins and counting...

Sort of like this video.

I didn't use the sledge hammer though, or tyre levers. I used a rounded off crowbar.
Once the bead was broken off by jacking up on the edge of my trailer all the way round the rim (it was only just heavy enough to do it) the wheels went in to the basement workshop for tyre removal as it was raining outside. It would have been easier if I had something to hold the rim still as I wrestled with it.
Only afterwards did I realise I could have used one of my many acro props to pin the rim to the floor by jacking off from the ceiling.

Right, I'm going to pop out to the pub to meet some people from the Battery Vehicle Society Forum.
Won't be too late out and not drinking either.

Do unicorns turn into pumpkins at midnight, then?

My stir fry was slightly spicier than intended. Teeny bit of spillage with the chilli herb salt stuff. Where's potsy when you need him, need to mug someone for ice cream to tip the balance.

Um. <snigger> You do know that sounds incredibly rude if you have a dirty turn of mind and slang knowledge...

Fortunately, I don't.

Well, I had my pie. I do wish Waitrose had thought to mention the mushroom content on the top of the box, but never mind I managed to swallow the small bits and pick out the big one.

Tea?

Have you replaced that door knob yet?

My knob certainly doesn't need replacing!!! ;)
