Just in from cleaning the bike. Any tips on how to degrease
- fingernails
- t-shirt and shorts
- the bucket (actually the bathroom bin  )

Swarfega. Even on clothes. Rub it on the dry item (if you are working on a surface, put a rag or paper down on it, and between layers of the clothing to stop it rubbing through). Rub it in until the stain is a uniform patch of brown gunk (it'll look far worse than the original), and THEN rinse it under a tap. But Swarfega only works dry, so don't wet it before hand.

I found this all out after I'd leaned back against my trike chainring in a white jersey.

Useful to know!! I live with bike oil over clothes now but if this solves the problem...

Coffeejo- they take like oreo biscuits but in cake form. Truly scrumptious!

Oops!

thanks for that: I'll put swarfega on the shopping list. Used the bike degreaser to get off the worst, so am expecting my hands and shorts to fall to pieces by the end of the evening (only saw the 'don't let this come into contact with your skin' warning after I'd had my bright idea

Om nom. Fancy posting the recipe?

150g Self raising flour
150g brown sugar (I used mainly caster with bit of molasses)
25g cocoa powder
pinch of salt
120ml water
30ml veg oil
1 tbspoon balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla

makes 12 cupcakes - no dairy, no eggs - so good if you have vegan friends. Good for using up cupboard stuff as well

I used shop brought frosting that was left over in the fridge - it was Betty Crocker Buttercream iirc.
Heat the oven to 180. Mix all the dry ingredients together, create a well in the centre and add the liquids. Mix together until smooth and divide the mixture into 12 muffin cases lined in the tray. The cases should be 3/4 full but my mix was quite thick so I just divided the mix up. Bake for 20-25 mins and put on rack to cool. Pipe over frosting.
