Wednesday Night Ride to the Pub. My local CTC does rides (on a wednesday, oddly enough) about 20-odd miles with a pub stop.
It's riffing on the Friday Night Ride to the Coast (FNRttC) as run by Delzeqq of this parish.
I'm not an actual Doctor, but I do have a worrying liking for science fiction of all kinds.

sorry Arch - I don't do sitting in the corner - far too brazen for that nonsense.

Don't worry we'll all be in the same corner by the end of the evening anyway. Especially if you've got cake with you.

I ate too much dinner, and drank a Gin and Tonic, and now I'm :tired:

NT, you're a pest!

Sorry Jo. Milk makes me feel a bit ill, the smell of milk in tea turns my stomach a little too.

I'm giving the theatre a miss tonight, feeling really drained and fuzzy so I am going to go to bed early. I might have to go back to the workshop to do a bit of wood turning in a while though.

Oh dear, I hope an early night sorts you out.

Hmmm. Wood turning...

<pictures NT holding a twig, and turning it round a bit, and then a bit more and then a bit more.>

Will the wood get dizzy?

Brews up a nice cup of black Earl Grey.

Oh, my colleague and I were working on a rather studenty street today, and he commented on the number of pizza boxes we were picking up. And then he turned round and saw the next house's recycling:

We don't know if they'd had a party, or if that's a week's worth of dinner!

It's a pity I didn't get him to lean them over a bit, to re-create a famous monument... I'll leave you to say which one...

Dont mess with arch she has a brompton you know  or so I heard

Does she? When did that happen?

It's a beautiful night out there, lovely and clear and warm! And not too-many-hills-warm, either. Though we did quite a few of those as well. Very strange riding the hybrid after a week of neglecting it in favour of the road bike. My leg muscles felt horribly pathetic for the first ten miles, instead of merely pathetic as per normal.

*tucks into a cornetto before speicher finishes them all off and/or potsy notices*

Did I succeed in trying to look clever?

A little

As for Brompton's (had to google those
blush.gif
) well - when I first learned to ride a bike I rode what my parents bought me, then had a long break and then spent 1 1/2yrs riding a clapped out MTB that the school I was working at in Zimbabwe loaned me (I did regular 20 mile rides on it - plus one memorable ride from Haut Bay to Cape Point on a borrowed clapper out shopper type bike
ohmy.gif
). Then didn't get anywhere near a saddle again until 2 weeks ago when I bought myself a bright pink MTB type thing with "Mad Cow" written down the side...........as far as I'm concerned it's got 2 wheels and a couple of gears (and most importantly breaks haha) so it'll do me

Quite frankly I couldn't give a rat's arse what you ride so long as you're nice
