I will happily ship the 8,500,000 UK domestic cat population to join the Cypriot ones where they can all live happily ever after and multiply freely until they run out of birds and small mammals, amphibians and fish to eat and then die. Domestic cats are an extra, unnatural predator that humans seem to love and literally let get away with murder. They are an extra predator that has thrown our wildlife madly off balance. My ex-wife used to get me to clear up the bodies of the little presents her two mogs deposited on the kitchen floor, after killing and presenting it they go off and eat the cat food from their bowl. Two cats, at least 8 assorted uneaten bodies a week, multiplied by about 4,000,000 in the UK. No wonder there isn't as much birdsong as there used to be. My dog, on the other hand, is happy playing with a tennis ball. I hope my position is clear, I shall not be touching this subject again... View attachment 60918
Sorry, but I can't agree with your view of what has caused the loss of birdsong etc - I think one should think more about the human impact.

Afternoon all.
I went back to bed, woke at 0640, took 2 pain killers as my wrist was in screaming, burning agony (groomed 2 dogs yesterday which may have some bearing on it) and then zonked out as they are good painkillers. Woke up at 1215 . Have taken another painkiller, just the one this time as I need to function. I have a dog to groom at 2 and will drop my Giant Defy off at the bike fixers en route - something is up with the rear brake, it's probably something really obvious but I cannot see it for the life of me - and then home again.

Really bummed that I have missed the morning as I really wanted to practice my guitar and paint the bathroom wall a boring cream colour to offset the Seafoam Green one. Such is life. 2 dogs to groom tomorrow then induction day at my new jobby-job. Nervous and excited. Start day next monday and then I won't have to groom any longer. I am keeping a couple of customers on my books, to keep my hand in, so to speak, but I am really excited about a change of career and it all starts tomorrow :hyper:

Sorry. Tea thread, I know. I have a huge cuppa to go with my painkiller. There. Back on topic seamlessly. Nobody noticed a thing.

Just had a lovely beef stew that I threw in the slow cooker at 10am this morning.
I'll need it, as off out at 6.30pm to take the lad to the firework display :cold:
I'm taking my little Lumix camera - not really used it since I got it so we'll see how it does tonight!

Superb 12 miles in the sunshine
You lucky spud. It's been slatting it down all day here. Proper stair-rod rain that even the Jack Russell's didn't want to go out in, the big wimps. The hounds were seriously miffed about going out for a 10 minute walk a few minutes ago. The lagged behind and sat down a lot on the way out and then dragged our arms out all the way home. Hounds don't do wet

Home from wwww now. Favorite customer today. She works for a member of the Dubai royal family and is highly valued by them. As a consequence, she highly values the people who come and work for her.
I have come home with a large tip as normal, a box of Baklava, a huge jar of lavender honey and a container of viakal as she said that it would help in the shower room that I am still scrubbing out.

5:2 fast day today so Baklava tomorrow as well as honey on toast for breakfast.
