I'll have to find what the problem is with that ^^^. It's an animated gif, but it's not animating . I suspect it's the server I have it stored on not allowing animation of animated gifs.

Anyway, after 4.5 hours and about 10km of walking, I've got the new wheel, 4 tyres and 6 tubes, and picked up another one of those CDs I ordered from Amazon (this was the parcel waiting for me at the local shopping centre post office). I've checked the new wheel on my truing stand, and it's perfectly true, not even 0.5mm out in any direction.

All I did was use a GIF splitter to split it into the 2 images, upend these, then rejoin into another GIF, I swear it!
(Speaks to GIF surgeon) "Are you absolutely sure you didn't leave the scissors in there when you stitched the little guy back up again??"

I can't find any information on what candidates the Australian Cyclists Party will be fielding for the Victorian State Election.

Well, I installed the new wheel on my commuter bike, but it still needs a clean from its (aborted) week of commuting a few weeks ago. It's nice to see the old thing whole again. I've done so many miles on it, that I would have been really upset if it had been written off, but fortunately my incident was a minor one .
