I use Firefox for browsing, set 'Do not Track' in preferences, use Duck Duck Go for search engine and a made up name for anything I want to use google for, such as my tablet's account. It's just a fact of modern life that you can't NOT be tracked by anyone powerful enough these days.

GCHQ, NSA, your ISP have to retain all your data, sites visited and viewed, stuff downloaded/uploaded for 6 -12 months (I ca'nt remember)..GCHQ will retain your data, infos etc as long as they want.
To be honest, Google are the least of all evils compared to that lot.
Your texts and call history on your mobile phone is retained for the same period just in case you are a terrorist or whatever.( they were collecting this data before 9/11 and the Boston bombings and never knew nothing..
DuckDuckGo and even these new fangled Incognito pages are just as open to your ISP and the rest to monitor.
You really cannot hide even VPNs are infallible...
Every website etc is logged and tracked.

Afternoon all.
Today I smushed through my monthly target for cycling so I treated myself to a second hand CD for £2.80. I've had an extra cup of tea and everything. Feeling very decadent today.

Edited to add that the CD was £2.86. Hubs said so. Maybe I should go out and ride round the block to deserve the extra 6p

and I forgot Facebook tries to track even if you aren't a member.....
