I have wandered about complaining about their attitude in the past, but feel nothing would be done.
They seem untouchable. Just receptionist's at the end of the day but not in their estimation.
I think the manager would support them and what then?

They're not qualified to make a medical decision & practice rules/regulations will state patient confidentiality comes first.
