Ive never done trout fishing. I always did course fishing at packington, and Kingsbury water park, and on the avon and the severn. Carp, tench. Roach, rudd, bream, crucians etc.

I can thoroughly recommend fly fishing for the troot esp when you learn the art of dry fly.
Its very therapeutic even if you catch nothing but tasty when you do..
Once you learn to cast the fly, you are in
try it!!!!

Someone referring to our club chaingang night (she is from NZ) said she didn't agree with this "Ba's Oot" approach - not sure what they were doing on the chainy THAT night!!

Last did fly fishing on the River Moy, County Mayo, many years ago. Bloody Butcher used, is still around somewhere.

She's right.
Whilst serious 'training' will be hard it should also be smart. "Ba's Oot" done at the wrong time or too often can just as easily break as make an athlete.

Yeah that's why I don't partake of our chainy's - too many "Ba's Oot" guys for my liking.

I agree with you. My club was the same and I stopped training with them a few years ago; yet year in, year out I was beating people 25 - 35 years younger than me in every one of the club TT's. I even won the club trophy for the 'most improved rider' the season after I stopped training with the club!!

Time for a doggy walk in the Hopefully, ease the legs after this mornings hillyish 50 miles.

Back from turning the pedals for an hour or so. Tried out my new toe clips for the first time. LOOOOOOOOVE them. I have coffee, but Mr WD needs help in the garden to take down a rather large pine tree. It's about 30 feet tall and if it comes down becuase of the wind it will hit the house. Have a great afternoon peeps.
