If that's a tube, fire the washing up liquid down it as you SLOWLY remove it from between foam & handlebars.Adapt, improvise and overcome....

That post brought a memory back to me. When I taught the family to ride I used the phrase "go RIGHT AHEAD or get LEFT BEHIND to remind them of which brake was which. They were happy days.Right front, Left rear?
Hairspray's what you want.Okay I had to admit defeat and cut the grips off
I have arthritis in my wrists and they aren't that strong...I got both ends loose with the washing up liquid method but the middle just wasn't budging.
I have put the levers where I want them and put the new foam grips on.
I did have the original Dawes rubber grips but hated them, so have just left the foam as my grips as it's comfy. The bonus is I have plenty of room for accessories on the front
Well that's a lesson learned!

Don't use it, so none in the house. The jobs done anywayHairspray's what you want.
Squirted under existing grips it turns into a lubricant to help pull them off.
Spray it inside your new grips and they'll slide on easily.
Be quick though as once it dries it turns to glue, holding them in place.
Don't use it, so none in the house. The jobs done anyway![]()
