Evening all, and apologies for my absence for the last few days. I've been working silly hours on the house, as we have family arriving from abroad tomorrow. Oddly, they probably want access to their bedroom through a door rather than the back of a wardrobe, and they're fairly sure to want stairs rather than a ladder. Both goals have been achieved. Here's a view out of the back of the wardrobe down into the kitchen........note the ladder to our bedroom:

No. Oak pegs. I've got to make a batch of them tomorrow. I do use a steel rod for a temporary fix now and then:

Too late. I filled in the gap, and built a doorway instead. They get a curtain over the doorway, as I won't be making doors until next year.
