Days ahead of schedule, and under-budget, the rendering is done. My hands are a complete write-off, but other than that I am a happy bunny.

See you've taken elf & safety into consideration. Blue milk crate on the scaffolding.

I considered it, and decided that as I'd done it without issue for the last 3 or 4 decades that there wasn't any issue.

You did a risk assessment then, with regards the use & placement of the milk crate.

My son has done some lime plastering. His hands were in a terrible mess afterwards.

You could try vaseline on your hands, it may help them heal.
