The insulation you have used must be pretty good stuff.
You seem to also have been lucky to have had a lot milder conditions down in Suffolk all through the year haven't you.
Is it just a case of the winds off the North Sea like Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire or is it a bit more sheltered down your way?

Whilst it is a warmer corner of the country, it is more about the house design and construction than the weather conditions. I have 600mm of insulation in my roofspace, the equivalent of 300mm in my walls, triple glazing, and, most importantly, the insulated envelope of the building is external to a high thermal mass inner skin to the external walls. I also don't have a chimney, which are a huge net loss of heat to a house. The house is heated at this time of year by incidentals: lighting, cooking, the fridge (probably the biggest source), and by the hot water system (and a human on the move gives off about a Kw). Retaining all that in the house is the key.

This ancient pile had just two coal fires and all single glazing when we bought it.
Draught central it was especially in an onshore breeze.
All sorted now though thanks to oil fired central heating and Safestyle UK double glazing all round ( top firm v. Reasonable and do good work).
Walls are thick enough not to need insulation but we did the lofts.
22 is our default setting when it's on.

Good morning everyone. :hello:. Can you imagine classic being a model?:laugh:

There's a member of my wife's running club in his mid 60s who is a model. He appears in outdoor clothing catalogues aimed at walkers and climbers. He's bald and rugged looking, and completely ordinary in appearance. So, unless you're carrying any spare weight, Classic, give it a go. Other than your pride, what have you got to lose?

Morning WD.
Not too much, as you can see!

E-mail from the same address said I could make £10,000 a week at home. "For full details Click Here"

Good morning Mike. Blimey its cold here today
It's the recent warm spell, the "mini heatwave" you forecast, that's making it feel cold. That or one other thing!
Blimey, a fire in mid October! My central heating hasn't come on yet, and probably won't for another month or so. And it's set at 21.
I've a fire thats only been lit ten times in the last six years. That's for the servicing and when it was fitted, and then retested after they bodged the fitting.
Good Morning :hello:

Loved it that he whittered on about Lancashire being divided up these days, completely forgetting that Yorkshire is divided up into 3 ridings.
Three Ridings because it was too big for one days riding to cross it. Now a Riding and three Counties.

We go back to three Ridings, Linconshire wouldn't exist.
