Typical, I got the date wrong, I thought it was the 28th
no rounders until tomorrow
then found out last years subscription runs out tonight..
wallet now empty,

Thought I'd give Polly a wash and chain check and clean..
been using Morgan Blue chain cleaner, excellent stuff..
(this will jinx me, watch this space)

took a couple of handhelds and gave a few calls along, a good excuse at the top of any hills
Yeah, I'll avoid this bit for a while but down a new path to drop down on to it,
I assume job is waiting on concrete settling..

settled now watching rounders,
just practice games...

What's the handheld set you use, and would a licence be required just for listing in?
It's operating a radio, even if not broadcasting.

I'd a 4M (70Mhz) Chinese special and a 2m (145Mhz) Yaesu..
nope , don't need a licence to listen, the 2m one has general coverage from 504 khz to 998,9 Mhz but if it you are wanting to buy something for listening only, this is the bees knees

I have one, just need some antennas and a computer of course..

you can buy RTL dongles cheaper but this is a class above....

Not too certain at present, testing the waters price wise. Offered a base station at a price far too good to be true and declined it. There's one or two locally, but the club closed years ago.
I'll have a gander at the link, might even decide!

I was looking a a couple of scanner bases but spare cash needed elsewhere just now(garden)..
The SDR (runs off the usb cable) with it's sister program, SDRUno will pick up anything, anything SW and any of the Ham bands plus all sorts of decoding options using other programs, it can scan too best looking at youtube videos for an idea.
I use a YouLoop for HF (two actually, plus a 144mhz/433mhz antenna, I just use RG6 cable off Amazon as it is listening only.
