That's hard to answer as Cyprus is like everywhere else - it depends what you want and where you want it. We don't own as we like to sample new places but even renting varies a lot in price. Renting suits us as we are able to do things like we have done in the past such as spending a couple of periods in a Greek only speaking village so that we could improve our Greek and get to the 'real' Cyprus.
If you have something specific in mind I can try to be a bit more helpful.

Put it this way, it isn't cheap but nor is it expensive. However, the cost of living tends to be less if you live there permanently as taxes are less.
Enjoyment of life seems to be so much better in everyone's opinion though.
