I just looked at a couple of areas on the map I knew well and yep, accurate as hell.
More likely bought the info...

Stopping the sale of triple and double A batteries haunts you?

Full test of the new set up coming up.
They bought a full set of OS maps and used them.

Owdo
Ask for "A" or "B" cell batteries, that'll confuse them.

MacD's red packaging, Russian maps of the area you lived in. There's a connection there.

Start with the last place, it'll be there. If you still have one of course.

The ones at the rear look very posh...
I couldn't afford a deckchair bed:laugh:

QE2 Greenock..
around 1.24 to 1.30 odd you can see two gasometers,
I watched it all from the top of the left one:laugh:

Our house looked down directly into the dry dock..

Yer older than yer letting on if you were there, fitting out the ship.
How much did it cost to get on the gasometer?

Economy Class, on the top deck.

Photo is Clydebank,
the John Brown yard famous for a sit in and Jimmy Reid saying 'and finally, no bevvy' (a modern (then) Red Clydesider)..
I have a photo somewhere of my dad walking home from the yards (the 60s)with what was called a 'monkey' under his arm, local name for a lump of wood, taken home to chop with for kindling....the photo was just outside that drydock.
Last time I was in the dry dock area, I was at court, civil matter, as to whos efault it was when i t-boned a car on my motorbike...
wasn't mine..
it was the (second) cousin of a famous TV chef:laugh:
edit to add, one of the buildings was used as a temporary court

They hold(held) court in a dry dock!
In the dock, then called to give evidence in the dock. You get the bike replaced.

Pinching a monkey from a shipyard, odd employees and/or stock.

Bike was written off..
I'd almost ordered some new parts the previous day but decided we'd head down at the weekend to the bike shop...phew!
A couple of weeks later, I graduated to a 250 Super Dream:laugh:
it was bomb proof but a heavy sod.

'Monkey' was just an offcut of wood they used, old sleeper type...
manky. I used to chop it up on the stone landing:laugh:
Dad used to give me a glass of cider out of those big screwtop bottles..
still drinking the stuff (if I had any )

Saved you some money then. Not a normal occurrence in a crash.

Used for stabilising the vessel in dry dock? Do you still have all your original digits though.

Yer out of apple juice, and rehydration materials! How'd you let that happen, panic buying.
