We sometimes watch the jet trails heading over and see what plane and where it is going, over etc..
so I said to Mrs M, that one not too to the SE above us, I'm going to bounce my 2m VHF tx off it for aircraft scatter....

It's a contact...
with that plane overhead, he gets me -11, without -21 so it works....
Quiet as some meteor shower is fading out I think...
I'd need to run more power for any chance of that and then it would be right place, right time...

You'll understand why we wish to stop this happening again though.

Pity there wasn't anything else worthwhile to pillage....
now if it was the other rose county, we could have tankers of Betty's 'Otpot heading N...
oh, well.

It's amazing how you can 'ping' off meteor debris..
some dedicated folk out there..
I'll just 'bounce' off overhead planes..
One 'spot' from NWales (Caernarvon?) and one from just E of Ballina
Others (5) across Jockland..

Radio club meeting so no radio tonight..
Zebedee just round the corner methinks.....

Odd for google. They like to show others what your house looks like.
Province level not County, that is poor.

Would that be the one week fishing trip, when you weren't allowed to.

I assume the cost of using google maps on the website comes into the zooming level..
Google Map website use turned to a pay model a few years ago..
I use it for a personal project and am allowed so many views free each month....

If they're charging to use it, I can understand folk wanting to ay them as little as they can. Might explain why some sites have dropped it.
Not a big user of their maps, so never noticed.

A site like the radio one I use to see who's spotting me, must have views daily running into phew, lots.
I assume you can still get a certain level of map cheaply..

Agree, but they're not the only popular map provider out there. Ask/demand too much and folk will stop using them.
