We've a dry spell apparently over the next few days..
Think a watering of everything this evening..
Just about to think about sowing some more seeds..
(if someone will stay away)
Start of the heatwave!
Get yer shorts and suntan lotion ready.
Starts raining, I'll be blaming you.
Do, not think.
Get her to "help", leave the bag of potting compost where she can get it. See how long it is before you're told off.

I wear shorts 365 days of the year....no need.
It better rain occasionally, for obvious reasons
Thinking is dangerous....
Think Toodles is best kept away..as I would have to clean up the ensuing mess

Are they proper shorts or those half length shorts from America?
You'll have to get yer watering can out!
Says who?
Give her the one chance at least.
, she might be naturally green fingered under the dirt. If it's on a plastic sheet how hard can it be to clean up.

Down past the knee ones, not yon '70s football ones:ohmy:

Low temps overnight..
best be canny with the watering can..
Might pot on seedlings later..
Get trouble out to burn some energy:ohmy:
I'm late with some plants but enjoy a later flowering period....
Owdo
Dry day so far?

Working on yer Gladys Pugh impersonation still. You need a small glockenspiel

Bing bong bing..
and that deep voice...
dry so far,
chart below is rainfall since the 16th of the month
rain since 16th.jpg

Just to add, the 18th was lost data (on this program) but there was 1.8mm fell according to data on other uploaded data, I'm not going in to play about in case I mess everything up......yet.
I have to work out how to do an updated dayfile

3/4 shorts, they're worse still!

Similar, but frost free down here. You?
Put tepid water in yer can. Gently wake them up with a not too hot shower.
You going to let her "help" you...
Make a large "hamster wheel" for her. She'll be able to run round and remain in the same spot.
June, maybe early July, before you come into bloom then.

A voice that said "don't you mess with me boyo".
Dryer than last month, with a week to go.
Wise move. You'd fix one only for the other to fail on yer, before you got all the data from it. Almost as if they knew what you were planning.
Have fun with yer files.

Interrupted by not one but two inbound calls.

Sunflower seedlings all potted on, fingers crossed now..
enough hopefully for everyone,
be much easier if just for me..
Gutter emptied of strawberry plants, new compost bedded in with a good watering, strawbs not successful last year but okay in other container.
Beetroot seedlings put there tomorrow.
Peas will be planted in situ tomorrow morning, just one trough...
Think rain is going to be hiding for a while

Just tell them you'll be charging for your time, if they ask. You reap what you sow, and if you don't sow...
Keeping yer fingers crossed can make other jobs awkward.
Gutters not deep enough for the roots?
Just think what you could have been growing, had you kept the gardens.
What of the plastic "greenhouse" structure, that failed in t'wind. Will that see light O'Day this year?
Carries on like this there'll be calls for a hosepipe ban.

I got growth but plants just didn't produce, I just assumed, either the depth or ???
Beetroot (which do grow) about to go in tomorrow..
soaked the compost earlier.

Got takers(family) for the extra plants to make room for the next batch...
tomorrow I may 'move, the apple tree into position.
(everything is containerised) as drainage pipes everywhere........
place (the back)was kinda 'wet' when we moved in...

Growth, but not sufficient to bear fruit.
Could be any number of things, over feeding, not feeding enough. Watering or not. Their roots are fairly shallow.
Do you expect enough to feed you over the winter months.
Soaked the compost already!
That's the dry days over, for now.

What's wrong with yer current crop, other than you want to replace them?
Is that the same apple tree that was in a container smaller at the base, that fell over.
You living on top of natural springs/water courses.

Strawbs?
lack of depth i reckoned..
no chance, just picked as ready..JO31no

Bamboo were the falling over problem, not now....
It's amazing how they cost a bit of extruded plastic.....

we have light rain forecast for 6am

As many new houses seem to be these last few years.
They should have put adequate sufficient drainage in to begin with. Without being asked to.

Deeper guttering not available?
Checkpoint Charlie!!.

The old bamboo. Now staying upright, or no longer there...
Usually as much as they feel they can get away with, which is often too much.

A bit later than the rain that fell here then.
