You could have gone up in yer work clothes, hard hat an'all. Your version of one of the village people. Saved on taxi fares...
No late night private parties allowed that you could DJ.
Similar laws down here.

Wary of the two blokes who kept on turning up at first I bet. Suppose it were one advantage to the job he never thought about at the time.
Were you ever tempted to spend the night in the hotel. Only returning to the tent to pick the tent up.

You passed it onto whoever got picked up first. How long did the poles last when you started leaving them behind.
It can get wet down here, but not as wet as up there. Not as a general rule anyway.
The tranny also useful for the weather forecasts as you lay in the tent, rain hitting the flysheet. Something to read was always in the rucksack. Like yerself summat to read when tent bound.

Jeez, have you ever seen hotel prices up here?
No wonder, the bulk of tourists never return..
Some of the prices quoted for someone's spare room is well into three figures,
As I mentioned before, I planned out a Scotland by Travel card (bus pass) but using soft beds not roughing it..
TBH? we both could have had an all-inclusive holiday abroad much cheaper..
Idea well knocked on its head.....

The pub we used was mostly empty, the wee trendies all headed to another down the glen, we avoided it mostly.
Full most times with folk in hiking gear, all that was missing was the price tags (I've friends in the Lakes who say the same thing)

Taxi? don't think there were such as thing...

I've just made a fake stone for geocaching but using up all the spare PLA left on spools, so four spools to go into the recycling, lengths were from a couple of metres upwards..I'd better email local estate to ask for permission. Email winging their way...

All the bikes got a quick fettle this morning,
I remember a couple of weekends literally stuck inside as a miserable place when wet.
We never missed many weekends...
It was, every fortnight....I had courting to do the alternate weekend

I've seen hotel prices for popular parts down these parts. And in some cases I've prior experience of them, so wonder how they justify asking the price they do.
I've not been back to any I've been to once.
That they wonder why people don't holiday on this island, given their prices, is what gets me.
Who knocked it on it's head?

That sorta place. One for the locals, who most don't want to mix with on holiday.
Any in the hiking gear just to fit in.

Aye, you get charged for being taken for a ride. Nearly as bad as hotels.

One way of using up what you had left, rather than throwing it.
Suppose they say "No".

All now in full working order, ready for the next out.
There tends to be fewer folk around in wet weather. You'd have got away with more.
Did you ever combine the two weekends?

Yeah, occasionally the future Mrs M and I had a trip up, I could never get bored..
We did use an official campsite....
proper white porcelain and everything
She was back home every second weekend, it suited me, of course, but she moved through to my neck of the woods so........
the fortnightly trip became a lot less,
The mate moved back to the lakes so 1979, and I became a regular visitor, choo choo down and back, bus out to Keswick (not fortnightly though, every couple of months), expensive business
Oh well.....

I'm more premier inn, travelodge type places, cheap AND you know what you are getting.
Been a busy day, here do you like my six colour fake rock ?
I used all the ends of spools for the first five layers and just finished it in matte grey..
IMG_0314.jpg

there is a threaded 'hollow' on the bottom of the 'rock'
I mailed a local estates to see if I could get permission to place a couple out locally but not holding out much hope....
That's a couple of 'supports' at the rear of the rock, also inside the 'hole', overhangs and hollows need supports to print over....
The 'log' goes in the screw part....
Quite a few 'prints' for geocaching I'd like to try....

Tha took the luxury route back then! Weren't trying to impress someone were you!
You didn't have "His and Hers" tents by any chance.
Not given the time to get bored... You at least get the time of day?
Check the fares now and see how they compare. Assuming you can get a train, there and back, in the first place.
You still make the odd trip down? Future Border Raid maybe.

You'd spend £70 plus a night to sleep indoors!
It'll stand out until it's been left outside for a while. No rubber seal on the cap, the inside 'll get damp, maybe even wet.
Don't ask you'll never know. You might even find yourself having to make another.
See how it does in the wild. How long yer printing lasts.
Be a handy hiding place for a key.

Hoping yet responses are positive.
