You reckon the the Toodle Gang would join you, when you start singing?

Snip snipping plastic as you clean up yer print.
The little one knew you'd food ready, hence her putting in an appearance as soon as you sat down.
Owt bought..

You showed bits, but never said it took that long to print.
I'd have gone for the larger nozzle, if it were only a trial run, moving to a smaller if it worked. Refined it from there. Boxes and lids okay as separate items, just not working together. One last one then what'll tha do.
You might get lucky with the tailwind.
A fair age before they build next to you or they finish the path.

How are the lids failing for you?

Nah, light pruning...

Boxes and lids..
Lids no good....
Boxes parts are pretty good quality...
they will do for something..
I'm mulling over what to do next.....
These were PETG, the blue had some stringing but it is quite old, well over a year.
Some moisture sooked in, methinks..
The yellow has been great to use but is hard to find at a reasonable price.....

This was the inner cylinder, note the copious use of Tree supports, 16 hours alone
Screenshot 2026-03-19 195105.jpg

Impressive when finished...it took a wee bit of tweaking but it was someone else's file so no complaints, over a billion combinations they say....

Off to freshen up, sat outside with my wee pal this afternoon enjoying the sunshine,
Sunflower seeds getting done tomorrow morning (maybe)...

Low injury risk pruning then.

Can't you use either as something to leave stuff on, as opposed to just getting rid of.
They look okay in the picture, but a picture doesn't show what the eyes can see to be wrong.
Over a year old, surprised it lasted so long. Not misplaced yer drier again...
I take it it doesn't come cheap, especially in colours you like.

All that showing green went to waste. Shouldn't a cylinder be self supporting, not inclined to lean in any particular direction. The two large ones, were they solid supports?
What happens if they forget the combination you printed in. Hopefully they'll forgive you.

Did Polly enjoy the sunshine after all this time in the dark...
The annual competition begins.

She certainly did...
I have the 48 hr still leg syndrome so no out today, tomorrow.

The actual boxes are great quality, build and print.. sadly the lids are not, pity.
There are a mountain of boxes with lids online but just thought I'd try AI.
I'll look more into at some point.

You have to use supports lower down in that file, if it was me I'd have missed the large outer ones but this had been not my pals design so...if it went awry with a cm to go....all those hours wasted, it was very precise as had lots of parts to fit..
Once again, it depends on the 'creation' prog reads the file...
I did use CURA for that job..

Waiting on a phone appointment....
after that, seeds time.......

And she's now back inside.
How'd you manage that with the youngest there. I'd have thought she'd give you no time to sit still.
Out tomorrow, today...

Printing them separately help, or is the file used the problem.
Whilst I can understand the need for supports, those two large ones just seem like overkill. Especially as they appear to only come into play near the end.
My reply if it it went wrong near the end would never make it through the swear filter on here.
Did he make a note of the combination?

Telephone appointment now done n'dusted, and you start on Monday!
Seeds done yet.

2nd attempt at replying, the first disappeared when I hit post reply.

Was awfy foggy earlier...
14c just now,
Treat? Treat?
I'm permanently under orders..
Poached eggs on toast.....
Clearing now. Less than 50 yards visibilty first thing.
Slowly climbing to that temperature round here. Whether it makes it is another thing.
Your treat to them on this 365th day.
Starters and otherwise no doubt.
On top of yer cake. You'll have to exercise to make up for it.

It's the file, it does everything in one file, I go to a cad program and open, I render it and then if no errors, I export it as stl file. I click on it and it opens in my program of choice and I see instantly it's wrong, the lid..
The box part is no problem, it does make a solid box base, I might explore stackable boxes which will be handy and just label them....
I may annoy it tomorrow again, I can use up all my ancient PLA as well.
I have already scaled the height of the box, the original was 50 mm high to 25 and kept the other sizes so possibilities as I have plenty bits to store away.

I got my call and all sorted.....

Numpty time this bit. When you say you render it, what exactly are you doing?
If you see it wrong, at what point does it become apparent to you.
Stackable boxes requiring only the one "lid", sounds like you've a plan.
Be careful annoying it, it might bite back! Ancient PLA or not.

Only good news, and no more orders...

Good morning from a bright and sunny Towers :hello:
Frost topped cars earlier on the E side of the drive, nothing on the W yet temps were 4c here?
Oh well, a visit to the Ling of Stir for some messages...(or is this only a Jock thing? )
Once I've had a play, gonna be serious gardening time....

Render? it takes the original file AI made (a .scad file) and creates the object then if okay, you can save it into either 3mf or stl files, I normally use stl as I don't know much about editing anything, say I want to increase the wall thickness, standard wall thickness on my program is 2 but I prefer 4 or 5 depending on the object so I amend the wall setting on the program I use, if I decide to change the infill to a stronger one, I change to say, gyroid or oasis, gyroid used more. I have then adopted the stl file from the cad program to my 'liking', I hit what is called the 'slice' which converts it into a finished file ready to use on the printer, a GCode file. I save that on a USB drive and on my 3D Printing folder. When I try to close the program, it then asks if I want to save the amended file inputted to the Main program, it does save as a 3mf file which is okay, it shows me the extra tweaks I put in and will save me doing this again, if I decide much later to redo the file. The GCode file saved (the finished one) already has the changes inbuilt, confused? I am now..
Coffee needed...
Wait 'till late in the day for  complex things

Bright n'sunny here as well. Hosepipe ban imminent...
Quite a difference in temps across yer drive.
I'd say going to the Ling of Stir, for mesaages, is a Scottish/Jock thing. There's a few shops between here and there that could be used.
Oooh, what's tha bin playin wit'. Gardening done and yer now relaxing, enjoying the sun.

Basically then you get a chance to amend the file before settling on the final design before printing it off.
In order to the amending it involves changing the file format, a few times, before printing and before saving yer finished working plan in yet another file format. A fair few file formats to remember.
You had yer coffee yet, aid yer confused state...
Later in day you'll be hiding then, who, or what from I wonder.
