"Dish" consisting of six poles, with the "Dish" being made up of what appears to be one continuous wire.

About three deep, twenty foot in diameter. Mast mounted, approximately 35 foot high, pointing almost straight up, but with a slight lean towards N by NNE.

Similar smaller, half the size, in the garden facing skywards, like a ground placed satelite dish, but facing East.

Any idea what their use may be?

Could be a Hexbeam...

It's not so much a dish, but really a collection of wire antennae, each wire is optimised for a specific band, and put them all together you get an antenna that works across the HF (Shortwave) band, some may even reach low VHF frequencies.
