Sorry, but I don't understand what you're talking about.
I prepare the video using a video editor, then use Youtube's upload function to upload the video to Youtube. While the video is uploading, I can of course still use the internet for email, web browsing etc., as there's no restriction on me having simultaneous uploads and downloads. What I can't do (or it's not a good idea) is edit the next video while a video is still uploading, as this requires reading / writing the same HDD, which is inefficient.

Thought you may have been leaving it to upload whilst you weren't there.

I've been doing exactly that. I'm not staying in front of the PC for the entire upload period.
