Καλημέρα σας.

μέρα means 'day' and like most nouns with an 'α' ending in feminine gender. 'Καλή' is the feminine form of 'good' but the stress mark is dropped because it is part of a bigger word and only one letter is stressed per word, 'σας' is the plural form of 'you'. So, the literal meaning is 'good day to you' but it is used as good morning and is heard until about 3pm. The 'sas' part is interesting as it shows the 2 forms of 's' - the upper case 'S' in Greek is 'Σ' the lower case is 'σ' unless at the end of a word when it becomes 'ς'. )
Wasn't that interesting
