If you didn't have flappy paddles before what were you using?
I had a twisty gear change on my right hand, forward for up and backwards for down. Now I keep flicking the up lever instead of the down one and to top it all, I have one on my left hand too which works the other way! I generally just leave that in 2 though.

I do hope you are appreciating my technical terminology....

Twisty is an acceptable term, I used to have them on a mountain bike.

You know you didn't have to stop posting on here just because you weren't riding a bike?

Morning peeps............thought I would throw caution to the wind and post in here for a change. Lol.

Might be spending most of the day lounging at the computer as I still can't shake off a tummy bug thing. Rain and wind anyway so I'm not missing much.

I had an old mountain bike for a while with twisty grips but I didn't like them..........sometimes found when getting off and pushing the bike through gates, etc you twisted them by mistake, then had to sort yourself out when you got back on because it had tried to change gear.

Can I just say I am so loving my new bike, went ut and did 7 miles this morning, not a lot I know but I went on roads and everything, usually I just stick to cycle paths.

Well done. I think 7 miles was also about the length of my first ride and it nearly killed me. Lol. Onwards and upwards now. You will progress very quickly if you can even manage two or three rides per week.

What I am hoping to do is ride to work 4 rimes a week, I go to the gym on Wednesdays so I cant ride and do gym on the same day as I will die! On the other days I swim so I figure my riding and a 20 length swim each morning should get me a lot fitter.
