The Greek pronunciation puts a stress on the 3rd syllable - unlike the even spread of stress non Greek speakers tend to use. In the Greek spelling you have shown the end 's' is dropped when the moussaka is in the objective.

You think that's bad. One of my Greek text books conjugates verbs into 11 tenses, and that's just the main tenses!& again, in English.
