Funny thing about the cost of Cyprus is that we are, in a creative accounting way, saving money by going for a few months.
Last year was the first of our long trips and it started after our youngest graduated and we were no longer funding him so the money saved paid for the rent and airfares. This meant that we no longer had to save for our annual holidays. Once there the cost of living is a bit less and we aren't paying winter heating bills. Overall we triple/quadruple the holiday period but have more disposable cash. It'sand
all the way.
Above and beyond that we have a much better quality of life during the winter and that alone is worth the money. Given our age, I look upon it as being in the departure lounge of life with the flight to our final destination on a very long delay while we have a great time in duty free!
I am envious of you @Blue as I have mentioned to you before.
I realise how much better I feel in Mallorca in the warmer weather and wish I could spend longer over there during our winter.
Enjoy yourself as you have earned the right to do and don't miss an opportunity like that
