It's been a while since I posted in Tea? but consider the 10-post per day limit rescinded.

However, since this thread is limited in scope to a select few regulars, I'd prefer not to see a return to hundreds and hundreds of posts per day please.

Thanks,
Shaun

Thank you Shaun.

I wasn't here when the limit was imposed, and I am glad you have rescinded it now.

I'm starting to think about quitting CC. I think that's sad as I have considered the old regulars on this thread as virtual friends over the years.

When lurking in P&CA I have noticed that a few regulars seem to make it their petty minded business to pick holes in the most innocent of posts and start non productive arguments, rather than discussions, at every opportunity. That isn't so bad when one considers so few of the members bother with that sub forum. However, those same 'members' now seem to be plying their noxious trade in CC Cafe. Indeed, not that long ago, even a new regular in the Tea thread couldn't read over a predictive text typo I made without a sarcastic retort.

As I stated recently, I now frequent an Alzheimer's forum more often than this place. What a revelation that has been; people there are actually nice to each other and I have never seen any typo etc being mentioned or an argument started.

I don't think I need the pettiness of this dump any more.

My (long and predictable) ignore list is virtually all from that sub-forum from years back. I wouldn't judge a cycling forum on the inane behaviour in the Politics section. Edit to add:......it is possible to Ignore threads and sub-fora, as well as people. I have Ignored the cricket thread after being hounded out by some morons, for instance. It has simply vanished from CC as far as I am concerned. Why not do the same with the sections of the forum where the great unwashed dwell?

I would be disappointed to see you leave. You're part of the furniture around here, and I hope you reconsider. Every time the good people leave, the signal to noise ratio deteriorates.

Hopefully @Blue you have had a rethink about your post after reading the replies that have been posted here.
We would be sorry to see you disappear from here. Don't let certain people spoil your enjoyment.
Unfortunately there are some that seem to seek arguments for the sake of it. Just ignore them and stay with your friends :okay:

Well, there's that. But more importantly, how will you know whether Classic is lurking in the shadows behind you if you don't follow his movements on here?

I remember your run in on the subject of the test match @MikeG and you mentioning ignoring a load of people.
I struggle to understand why people that are clearly intelligent are so intent on seeking confrontations and are happy to rip someones views to pieces.
In the past people may have asked for advice on what type of tyre or chain you may use for example.
You mention your particular prefered brand and say it is a particular piece of equipment that you feel is good for your use.
The next thing you find is you are being slagged off even though you have said it is just a personal preference. I probably have something that works for me but have not tried to say its the only and best thing available.
Cant understand some folks

Is it better to have Mr Classic lurking behind you or not :laugh:

Thanks for the comments guys - I wouldn't expect anything else.

I was in a dark place this morning and to explain I can quote a post I made on the Alzheimer's forum just before I posted on here:-

"I don't know how you guys have managed for years. I'm being run ragged and we are only at the start of our dementia journey. Every day seems to be a little worse. This morning I've had to search the apartment for things that keep getting moved around, pester the hospital about my wife's PET scan (to no avail), dig about in the bin for things that were dumped where they shouldn't, give a lesson on how to use a phone that we've had for years, throw out uneaten food that was left sitting where I couldn't see it instead of being eaten yesterday. On top of that I've had to resort to pills to get some sleep over the last few days. It all feels like a never ending dementia dance and I can't get the band to stop playing. On top of that my wife sees my stress and I have to stop everything to give her a kiss and hug to reassure her. Thank goodness I made an appointment with the GP for myself for tomorrow - I must have been thinking ahead when I made it! I have always loved peace and quiet and was looking forward to enjoying that in my retirement but now see such a notion disappearing like a Pooh stick down a river!! Rant over - just had to write it down!!!"

The toilet paper types that have become so regular in CC just spoil the reading experience for me and I'd rather avoid polluting my mind with the comments from self gratification keyboard warriors who seem to think they are smarter than they show themselves to be. In any case, since I ceased competing in the local TT events a couple of years back I've become almost 0% interested in cycling with very little of my equipment and gear being used so I feel less of an affinity with a cycling forum. Indeed CC is the last remaining cycling forum that I visit whereas I used to visit 3 or 4 on a regular basis as either a member or lurker.
I'll see if the mood lifts.
