Looking at your profile from today, is it all hilly in Bonny Perthshire?I think I timed it well today heading back from dads. All the signs warning of loose chippings were in place but they hadn’t started. It will be done in the next day or two by the looks of it.

Local back roads got the grass barums cut recently, I always just turn back if its hedgerow..I can hear a farmer with a tractor on the lane. I think they are cutting the verges and the hedges. I will have to be careful of thorns for a while i think.
September by law up here I thinkBit early, still nesting season still.
Mr Choo on a Fat Bike?Yes I have heard the justification of the highways department saying it prolongs the life of the road and cost something like 20% of the cost of resurfacing.
Bloody horrible stuff and you don't want to be riding your bike over it for a while and also pays to avoid it in the car.
I wouldn't be surprised if somebody tours around looking for violations, esp these birdy folks.. Sustrans on our local NCN75 are cutting(geddit?) back on the grass cutting and highlighting path entrances, seated areas and sculpture to be cut...to let wild flowers flourish. Good excuse, folk aren't too happy about the overgrowth in sections.I would have thought that, but is it always respected??
